These terms are adapted in part from the structure of publicly available terms of use published by other Australian education technology providers, restructured and rewritten for CodeInFront's own platform and business model.
Accessing or using the Platform means you agree to these terms in full. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be notified to active Teacher/admin accounts by email where practical.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, and is incorporated into these terms by reference. In short: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we collect no personal information about students beyond a system-generated login.
Content is provided for your own classroom's non-commercial educational use. You must not use, reproduce, or redistribute Content for any commercial purpose, or outside your own classes, without our written permission. We may update or remove Content at any time.
You must use the Platform lawfully and in line with these terms. You must not:
Report suspected security vulnerabilities to support@codeinfront.com.au rather than testing them against live accounts.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform, immediately and without notice, for breach of these terms, non-payment, or conduct that puts the Platform, its users, or its students at risk. You may stop using the Platform, and request account deletion, at any time by contacting support@codeinfront.com.au. Section 7 governs what happens to an active Class Subscription if you do.
The Platform may link to third-party websites (for example, a meeting link for a demo booking). We're not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site, and linking to one doesn't imply endorsement.
The Platform's code, design, and course Content are owned by CodeInFront or its licensors and are protected under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). A Class Subscription grants you the right to use Content with your class — it doesn't transfer ownership of it, and doesn't permit redistribution, resale, or use outside your own classes. You must not copy, modify, decompile, or create derivative works from the Platform's underlying code or course Content beyond what's needed for your own classroom use.
You (or, for Student-created work, the Teacher on behalf of their class) retain ownership of code and content you create using the Platform. By using the Platform, you grant us permission to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service (for example, saving a student's in-progress code). We do not use content you create for marketing or promotional purposes without separately asking your permission first.
The Platform is provided "as is." We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what's described here. Course Content is provided for general educational use and is not a substitute for a school's own curriculum judgement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You accept the inherent risks of transmitting information over the internet and are responsible for keeping your own device and account credentials secure. We take reasonable steps to protect the Platform (see our Security page) but don't warrant that it will be free from unauthorised access.
Where a specific area of the Platform (for example, a promotion or competition) has its own additional terms, those terms prevail over these general Terms of Use to the extent of any inconsistency.
